You've being more than a friend to me

Truly, you are a friend indeed

We've sailed through previous 365days

And we are ready for another journey of 365days


We fought and nag over little things

Yet we still live in peace

Our feelings were being hurt

But the door to hatred we shut


The journey of a year is not easy

Sailing through the tides and stormy sea

The situation are not always rosy

But we are never tired of rewriting the whole story


Last year looks rough and vague

We labor and fought even in fatigue

It looks dry as if we wont make it

Finally veni vedi vici


Joy that knows no limit

Blessing that overflows it's boundaries

Unmerited favor and mercies

As we embark on another journey

HELPLESS NOT HOPELESS

It was a rainy, thunderous night in the village of Kumolu, a village surrounded by hills. The villagers of Kumolu are known for their beautiful weaving skills and farming. The villagers lived harmoniously in peace, but that doesn’t negate the “bad eggs” among them, either. The sound of the heavy downpour could be felt across the village, and the whole village was already in their houses early because of the wind that precedes the rain. Mama Daniel is a petty trader and a widow who lost her husband a few weeks after giving birth to her only child. Her voice could be heard by neighbors as she beckoned to Daniel to help her clear the water that had flooded the house — the smell of wet earth, the sound of wind rattling the thatch, the flicker of a kerosene lamp as they cleared the water. Daniel was fast asleep, but his mother’s voice woke him up, and he was shivering because of the cold.
