The way of the bat

Is the way of man

Cunning, deceitful and unworthy

Appears like an angel to one 

Then like the devil to the other

The way of the bat

Is like the face of man

Filled with outward smile

But deadly like a volcanic eruption inside 

Erupting harshly but seldomly get to the face 

The way of the bat

Is the mind of man 

Only the owner knows what lies in it

For selfish reasons prefer to be double face

Created a empire of deceit

An empire ruled by suspense

The way of the bat

Is the tongue of man

In it lies the power to save and to kill

The defendant shivers by such uncertainty 

Like a man awaiting his fate before a judge

It's the way of man

They appear in an angelic form

But they are wolf in sheep form

Happiness is written all over them when together

But their meal is the downfall of others

The way of the bat

It's the way of man

Fortunately they teach love

Secretly, they despise the word love

They might look charming all over

But a book shouldn't be judge by the cover

HELPLESS NOT HOPELESS

It was a rainy, thunderous night in the village of Kumolu, a village surrounded by hills. The villagers of Kumolu are known for their beautiful weaving skills and farming. The villagers lived harmoniously in peace, but that doesn’t negate the “bad eggs” among them, either. The sound of the heavy downpour could be felt across the village, and the whole village was already in their houses early because of the wind that precedes the rain. Mama Daniel is a petty trader and a widow who lost her husband a few weeks after giving birth to her only child. Her voice could be heard by neighbors as she beckoned to Daniel to help her clear the water that had flooded the house — the smell of wet earth, the sound of wind rattling the thatch, the flicker of a kerosene lamp as they cleared the water. Daniel was fast asleep, but his mother’s voice woke him up, and he was shivering because of the cold.
