I AM NIGERIAN
This is a first man expression of the griefs and sorrows experienced by a citizen of a country referred to the GIANT OF AFRICA. Written by Sambo Misturah PKA Sambo and Onayemi Oreoluwa Daniel PKA SimplyLegacy
I am that black man called a Nigerian
An industrious man earning peanut
I am that giant of Africa
A giant almost going nuts
The labour of my heroes are almost in vain
The struggle right now is for personal gain
I have the green, white, green all in my vein
Why then do I have to wallow in pain
The colour of my hair is my virility
My perseverance is my identity
The horses on the coat are not just for dignity
Their thickness tells you of my ruggedity
Burial ground emanating from once lush green
Talents are now celebrated in death
If it is a lie, then what of Dagrin
A promising rapper snatched by death
I promise to serve with strength, love and faith
Will I still do this even when all my strength has faint
The once giant of Africa is now a painful sight
I am a Nigerian that will serve with all might
I am Nigerian, the giant of Africa
A home to 200 millions+ Nigerians
I am Nigerian, my black fertile soil is my virility
The voice of 300 languages and 250 ethnicity
I am Nigerian, a soil bless with many resources
A place where public servants only fight for their different purses
I am Nigerian, Africa's largest economy
A place where the elders see the prosperous youth as the country's enemy
I am Nigerian, an Olympic gold, silver and bronze champion
These are History passed down the generations
I am Nigerian, a home colored in green and white
A place where ground breaking records are only recorded in black and white
I am Nigerian, a home to the rich and a battle ground to the poor
A land where the affluent despises the rookie with their labour
I am Nigerian, a democratic state
A state with a pitiable fate
I am Nigerian, a place where the fools sees the wise one as the foolish ones
And where the wise one see the fools as the wise one
I am Nigerian, a country that has achieved more on paper rather than in life
A man that chooses poverty, pollution, bad governance and all sorts as wife
LEGACY
What makes you giant
When your joy has being hired
By the old chamber full of manual
Yet you manage to smile and became weaker
Greener we grow
Milk and honey has flow
Ethnic and culture endowed
Old chambers lust the wealth
Yet we managed to smile and became weaker
Unity and peace
This is what we agreed
The chambers came with their greed
Yet we managed to smile and became weaker
I am the voice of the land
Sorrow and pains
In my heart
Still the flag shall rise
The joy and laughter
Shall be preserve
I am a Nigerian
The giant of all
The pride shall be restored
Greener pasture we live
